Environmental Assurance (Pty) Ltd was appointed in 2006 to assist the ERA group of companies to legalize their mining licence on three large operating quarries by having to convert the existing Environmental Management Programme (EMPR) to reflect the requirement of the Minerals and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA) of 2002. The converted EMPR was approved early in 2008 by the Gauteng Department of Minerals and Energy (DME). We are currently conducting monthly monitoring and measurement initiatives on the mine inclusive of water quality, rehabilitation status, community complaints management and any other known nuisance control.

Hernic Ferrochrome

Environmental Assurance (Pty) Ltd was appointed in 2004 to assist the Hernic Ferrochrome mining group with the approval of two new mining operations. Both operations namely Bokfontein and Ilitha received positive Record of Decisions (ROD’s) and the operation is currently underway. We have subsequently been requested to develop and implement an ISO 14001 based environmental Management system for the mining group. Certification is planned for in 2009.
