Lux l illumination Baseline Assessment

The lux (symbol: lx) is the SI unit of illuminance and luminous emittance measuring luminous power per area. It is used in photometry as a measure of the intensity, as perceived by the human eye, of light that hits or passes through a surface. It is analogous to the radiometric unit watts per square metre, but with the power at each wavelength weighted according to the luminosity function, a standardized model of human visual brightness perception

Baseline assessment is the assessment of the ambient lux conductions experienced before any additional impacts; this is then compared to the proposed conductions and the environmental and human impact is then assessed. Recommendations are then given to contain the obtrusive effect of outdoor lighting. Lux assessment are performed by specialized equipment (GOLDILUX, Gal-2l) is used in the monitoring of the lux conductions.
